Theodore Roosevelt gave the famous Man in the Arena speech in Paris in 1910. “It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at best knows, in the end, the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.

Just like the man in the arena, team Future Star Racing (Team FSR) has overcome countless adversities and is pursuing the dream that owners Mark and Alora McAlister had for the team in 2021. “TeamFSR is headed back to its roots and is focusing on our mission, ‘To help race car drivers advance to the next level by searching for genuine racing candidates who possess strong moral character and genuine skills at racing.’ This has resulted in exciting news and a program to help us achieve our goals. I am excited to see our vision coming to life this year,” stated Mark McAlister. Mark and Alora have worked hand in hand with the team to build a model that will be successful for many years to come.

Above all, they are excited to be able to do what they love as a team: go racing and get podiums. You can expect to see TeamFSR cars in F4 U.S. Championship (two cars), FR Americas (two cars), and USF2000 Presented by Cooper Tires (three cars). They are overjoyed to have a new active Team Manager, Joey Vallone. Joey has been involved in all forms of motorsports since he was a child and has had countless years of experience in IndyCar and USF2000. Briana Mulvihill, Team Coordinator, stated, “We are thrilled to have Joey on board and love the upbeat energy and excitement he brings to the team.” We have also maintained a great relationship with Alan Mertens to engineer the USF2000 cars this year. Alan’s resume speaks for itself and includes designing an Indianapolis 500-winning IndyCar! Alora McAlister boasts, “We are working towards building a team with successful members to reach our winning goals and build the next generation of racers and team members!

RaceCraft1 logoTeamFSR is also proud to announce the start of its Career Development Program. The program will walk drivers and their families through the journey of transitioning into open-wheel race cars. This program will feature partnerships with RaceCraft1 and others to get drivers invaluable track time in the cars, feedback that can be transitioned to sponsors and future teams, and informational sessions with families on the next steps of the racing career. In addition, we will have a team of driver coaches to help give constructive feedback to drivers and teach them how to communicate in a way that allows team members to make the appropriate adjustments to the car. This program will take root starting in April, and the spots are filling up! Contact us today to secure your spot in April.
