About Ayrton
Ayrton Houk, 20, born and raised in McCordsville, Indiana, has grown up in the heartland of open-wheel racing. Attending the Indianapolis 500 since he was a toddler, Ayrton has always had aspirations of IndyCar. Ayrton began racing at four years old, competing on off-road motorcycles. He continued on with motorcycles until he turned 12 years old, when he made the switch to karting. From there, Ayrton showcased massive talent on the 4-wheel side of racing. Beginning in karting, Ayrton had plans to follow an open-wheel ladder in hopes of making his dreams of competing in the Indianapolis 500 come true.
As he progressed the open-wheel ladder, Ayrton has accomplished a Kenyon Midget series championship, 2 runner-ups F1600 championships and has been selected as a Team USA Scholarship driver and competed in England as a part of the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy. His current plans for 2024 include competing in the USF2000 Championship presented by Continental Tire.
Outside of racing, the adrenaline doesn’t go far. Ayrton enjoys snowboarding, weightlifting, and continuing his motorcycle riding when he can, as well as cooking, video making, and sim training. While chasing his racing career, Ayrton is also studying finance at Purdue University and a brother in the Phi Sigma Kappa chapter at Purdue.
