Both the Wings and Wheels Foundation and the David Foster Foundation have Reached Major Milestones in Supporting their Respective Communities
The David Foster Foundation and the Wings and Wheels Foundation share a common goal of helping those in need, and have worked together for each organization’s success since 2022
David Foster Foundation
The David Foster Foundation marked its 40th anniversary in August 2026 by hosting its final large-scale, black-tie gala and concert in Victoria, British Columbia.
16-time Grammy Award winner and famed music producer David Foster founded the David Foster Foundation. The David Foster Foundation has two mandates: to provide financial assistance for all non-medical expenses to families of children needing a life-saving organ transplant, and to increase awareness and education about the need to become a registered organ and tissue donor in both Canada and the United States. To date, the David Foster Foundation has provided millions of dollars in financial support and helped over 1,300 families.
In 2011, the David Foster Foundation partnered with The Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the IndyCar Racing series to promote “Be a donor, save a life.” This major partnership promotion created awareness and education of the importance of becoming a registered organ donor. The promotion was a tremendous success due to the involvement of Indy Car drivers who lent their voice for this important cause along with the generous gift from Chevrolet of the #1 Series off the assembly line of the Camaro Pace car. The promotion winner received the 2011 Pace Car and was also given the thrill of riding in the pace car on the parade lap for the 100th Anniversary of The Indianapolis 500 race where David Foster, Kelly Clarkston, and Seal performed the Nation Anthem in front of untold millions worldwide.
- Major Fundraising Success: The final “love letter to Victoria” gala raised an incredible $14.5 million, bringing the foundation’s four-decade total to over $80 million.
- Endowment Shift: Because the foundation has successfully built a massive endowment to support the non-medical expenses of families of children needing life-saving organ transplants, it is transitioning away from massive annual galas.
The David Foster Foundation is making a significant transition from primarily being a fundraising foundation to becoming a stewardship foundation. This new direction is focused directly on providing comprehensive care and support for children who have undergone transplants, as well as their families. By emphasizing stewardship, the foundation aims to build lasting relationships and provide the resources needed to enhance the well-being of these children and their loved ones throughout their challenging journeys.
