The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) is a historic and massive sports venue famous for hosting the Indianapolis 500 and other racing events. Constructed in 1909, it’s the world’s third-oldest permanent auto racing track, featuring a 2.5-mile oval, an FIA-grade road course, and immense seating for over 250,000 spectators. Beyond racing, it features the IMS Museum, a golf course, and serves as a cultural landmark and testbed for automotive technology, earning it the nickname “The Racing Capital of the World.”
