2026 Great Race Adventure at Hilton Head

An all-inclusive Journey from Nashville, Tennessee, to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

The Great Race is a competitive, controlled-speed road rally for antique, vintage, and collector vehicles. Teams travel across North America while competing for precision, not speed.

IT IS NOT A RACE FOR TOP SPEED

The challenge is about precision.

This year, the Great Race begins at the Lane Motor Museum in your favorite fun car on Monday, October 26, and they handle the rest.

This is an “arm out the window” scenic tour built around great roads, memorable stops, incredible car collections, hosted meals, and plenty of time with fellow automotive enthusiasts.

The route is already planned, complete with turn-by-turn directions. The adventure includes hotels from the night of October 26 through the night of November 1.

Brad Phillips, Director of Great Race

“There’s no better way to make a friend than to drive an old car.”

FINAL DESTINATION

This year, the GREAT RACE’s final destination is Hilton Head Island, where it will celebrate one of the year’s great car gatherings.

You can see the Great Race cars (and more) at the Hilton Head Concourse Sunset Soirée [the show before the show] on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the CONCOURSE of HILTON HEAD, 1014 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC (Click here for details).

BEYOND THE GREAT RACE

The evening’s event to benefit the Wings and Wheels Foundation will include a meet and greet with TeamWWF Ambassador/Driver Trey Burke.

  • Rally Finish Line: Welcome the arriving Great Race Touring Series participants.
  • 50/50 Raffle: Enter for a chance to win a cash prize, with additional gift-card prizes available. Drawing at 7:15 PM; winners must be present.

You Gotta See This Car

The historic Lola T90/00 IndyCar driven by Mario Andretti will be featured on display.

1990 was Lola’s most successful season in IndyCar racing, although it had won the Championship twice before; it was never with this level of dominance. The Lola T90/00, introduced in 1990, incorporated a honeycomb composite monocoque with a carbon-fiber upper section and an aluminum-skinned lower section. This design was a step forward in utilizing carbon fiber in racing.
