TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Gearing Up for Rounds 7-8 of Mazda MX-5 Cup
By Kris Mills, Social Media Coordinator
The Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship is heating up, with only three stops remaining after this weekend’s races at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Ontario.

TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Nathan Nicholson remains in the championship fight, sitting No. 7 overall in the standings with 1,120 points.
Two practice sessions are set for Friday, while qualifying and Race 1 will take place on Saturday. Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday. Both races can be viewed on the IMSA Official YouTube channel.
TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Aaron Jeansonne holds the qualifying record at CTMP (1:31.736), which he set in 2024. Jeansonne is now racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America Championship.
Fun fact: Nicholson and Jeansonne are great friends, so comparing race notes is a solid possibility.
Regardless, Nicholson, who finished third overall in the MX-5 Cup Championship last year, has experience at CTMP. In 2025, he finished P4 in both races on the 2.459-mile, 10-turn road course. After CTMP, MX-5 Cup drivers will head to Virginia International Raceway at the end of August (Rounds 9-10).
Nicholson, who is from Bloomington, IN, will race in his home state for the next two rounds (Rounds 11-12). The championship will visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in mid-September.
The championship will conclude at Road Atlanta at the end of September (Rounds 13-14).
