TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Nathan Nicholson Finishes No. 8 in Championship

The Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship came to an end over the weekend at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
It was an unfortunate ending for TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Nathan Nicholson (Advanced Autosports), who qualified P3.
In Race 1, contact ended Nicholson’s race with approximately seven minutes remaining. Despite running in the top three for most of the race, he settled for a P26 finish.
Race 2 was “more of the same” as Nicholson finished P25.
“We led laps and had a shot to win, but contact pushed me into the gravel, and we ended a lap down,” Nicholson explained. “Sad way to end, but we showed our strength this weekend. I can’t thank everyone enough who makes this possible.”

You can watch a replay of both races on the IMSA Official YouTube channel: YouTube.com/@imsaofficial/streams.
With 2,510 points, Nicholson finished No. 8 in the championship.
Bobby Gossett (BSI Racing) claimed the MX-5 Cup Championship with 3,570 points. Jared Thomas (3,400 points) and Justin Adakonis (3,260 points) finished second and third, respectively.
Overall, it was a great year for Nicholson, who made his NASCAR debut in the Craftsman Truck Series. He also won his first-ever MX-5 Cup race in September at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in front of friends and family.
