Hear from Jeansonne as he Gears Up for Carrera Cup Round 2 at Long Beach
Aaron Johnson, here. I want to share a few things about my 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup North America livery. For anyone that’s watched the series, this has been a pretty special livery in past years in Carrera Cup. This livery has actually won the championship in 7 of the 9 series it’s participated in.
So the program behind this is Racing for Children’s. It’s a foundation that raises funding and awareness for children who are dealing with Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders. So, as you look at the car, you see several handprints all over it. Most of these are from children that are have or have battled with cancer or blood disorders. So we have honorary crew chiefs that are with me for the season, three of them, to be exact. So we have their handprints and the former Crew Chief’s handprints on the car, so we’ll see them all over. A really unique one here, I’d like to point out, is that we actually have a footprint there. It’s a really unique story behind that. And you can read more on the racing for children’s website about her story.
So whenever we revealed the car before the season, many of the kids were there, and their families were there. They were writing words of encouragement all around the car. So I want to show you some of the more unique ones that you might see that the camera won’t pick up. So if you come to the back here, one of our crew chiefs for this year, Margaret Ann, wrote, “Catch Me If You Can.” I told her that might make some of the competition a bit mad. And she said they can be mad if they want. So I thought that was very, very cute, motivating.
You have another interesting one here on the front, so on the front corner, you see, “Get out of the way.” I like that, right? But if you go to the other side of the front corner, for our competitors to see in their mirrors and “Get out of the way” backward, so they’ll be able to read it whenever I’m coming through the field. This is one I hear a lot in racing for children’s families, and Kelly Moss: “Just Win!” So anytime I say something, or have any doubts or anything, that’s what I hear back: Just Win.
I have another one of our crew chiefs here for the season, “Tiana Sickle Cell Warrior.” So I said, whenever I gave a speech to the kids and their families before the season, “You know, racing is tough.” We all fight hard out there. Fought hard to be here. We fight hard to win championships. But she’s a real warrior. That’s a real fight. Much respect to her. I’m super happy to have her on the program. And this one right here is from our senior crew chief, Molly. She’s at every race event. She’s up on the podium with me, getting the trophies. It says, “Bring it all,” so when she tells me she wrote that, she means, bring all the trophies, the champagne, the laughs, the smiles, everything that’s good behind what we do. So I love that!
