Jeansonne, Houk Ready for Another Race Weekend at IMS

TeamWWF Driver Ambassadors to Compete at Indianapolis 8 Hour Event

By Kris Mills, Social Media Coordinator

It will be another busy and exciting weekend at the track.

Two of our Driver Ambassadors—Aaron Jeansonne and Ayrton Houk—will compete in the Indianapolis 8 Hour at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend.

It is the last major event of the year at IMS.

The Indy 8 Hour weekend begins Friday with practice and qualifying. The eight-hour race will take place on Saturday, while the support races will be scattered throughout Saturday and Sunday.

Jeansonne (No. 88, Kellymoss) is competing in the Indy 8 Hour race with teammates Loek Hartog and John Gilliland. The race begins at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

“I feel optimistic and excited to be a part of this race,” Jeansonne said. “This year in particular, the pro-am class is huge and stacked with some of the best drivers in the world, so I think success will come down to obviously having strong, consistent pace but also flawless execution. I plan to hit the ground running with John and Loek and do my part to close the season strong with them.”

Houk (No. 007, CSM Motorsport) will have two GT4 America races this weekend. Race 1 is set for 10 a.m. on Saturday while Race 2 will take place at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday.

“I’m very excited to take what we learned as a team at the IMSA weekend at IMS into these GT4 America races,” Houk said. “I have been developing myself as a sports car driver over these past few months, and this will be the first return to a track in the Aston Martin that I have had. We have some great momentum going for us, and I am excited to capitalize on that this weekend.”

The TeamWWF Driver Ambassador took first place Saturday in the Don and Mel Kenyon Classic at Anderson Speedway, which earned him the series championship. It is Houk’s second Kenyon Midget Series Championship but the first with his father, Kevin, who leads JK Racing. The season’s longest race (75 laps) did not disappoint, as Houk won by .7 seconds for his first Kenyon Classic victory.
