What an outstanding year for Nathan Nicholson.

The TeamWWF Driver Ambassador made his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut and completed another strong season in the Mazda MX-5 Cup Championship, finishing No. 8 in the final points standings.

The highlight of his year came at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in September. Nicholson, who is from Bloomington, IN, won his first-ever MX-5 Cup race after claiming the pole. Even better, he did so in front of family and friends.

Fellow TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Aaron Jeansonne, a great friend of Nicholson, won his Carrera Cup race at IMS immediately after Nicholson’s victory. It was a moment our foundation will always cherish.

Read below as Nicholson talks about his season and what the Mazda MX-5 Cup has meant to him over the last five years:

“Mazda and the MX-5 Cup have played a huge part in my career and my life over the past five years,” Nicholson said. “The people I’ve met, the places I’ve traveled, and the experiences I’ve had have changed my life forever. I feel incredibly blessed to have traveled the country with this series and made memories with some of my favorite people on the planet that I’ll never forget.

“Road Atlanta marked my final race running full-time in the Mazda MX-5 Cup series. It’s definitely bittersweet closing this chapter, but I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead and ready to open the next chapter of my career. Thank you to every person who has touched this part of my career and helped make it what it was. I’ll always be grateful for these past five years, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.”
