It was a weekend to remember for TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Ayrton Houk.

Houk won the Dick Jordan Classic on Saturday in Anderson before qualifying P5 on Sunday for the upcoming Purdue Grand Prix.

On Saturday, racing in the Kenyon Midget Series, Houk set the fastest laps in both practice sessions and qualified on pole. He won his heat race and started the feature in P6 (pill draw) before driving through the pack to the checkered flag.

“What a night!” Houk said. “So much fun to be back in the Kenyon Midget Car with the JK Racing crew. Great way to kick off the season.”

He carried the momentum into Sunday with a solid qualifying effort. Starting in P5, Houk will have a great chance to win the 69th running of the Purdue Grand Prix. As a senior at Purdue, this will be his fourth grand prix.

“Have my sights set on bringing the Slugs #73 to victory lane on race day next weekend,” Houk said.

The Purdue Grand Prix is set for this Saturday, April 25. Gates will open at 10 a.m with the main race scheduled for 2:35 p.m.
