O’Gara, Houk Continue to Shine in Kenyon Midget Series

TeamWWF Driver Ambassadors with Another Fantastic Weekend of Racing

By Kris Mills, Social Media Coordinator

Four races. Three feature wins. It is safe to say TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Danny O’Gara is on fire.

O’Gara earned another first-place finish on Saturday at Berlin Raceway as part of the Kenyon Midget Series. According to ussaracing.com, the three wins have him tied for 11th on the all-time feature wins list, which is quite the accomplishment for a 12-year-old.

O’Gara took the lead Saturday on lap 18 when fellow TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Ayrton Houk experienced engine issues.

“It was a great race for us,” O’Gara said.

Houk finished fifth overall on ussaracing.com, but still had a successful night. He broke the track record during qualifying and won his heat race.

“The engine cut out,” he said of lap 18. “It was an unfortunate ending to the night. We had a great car, it felt planted, and we drove away from the field.”

Houk’s track record (16.92 seconds) earned him the Fast Qualifier honors.

Despite missing a race to make his IMSA debut on Aug. 22, Houk is currently No. 2 in the point standings. He is 16 points behind the leader, Isaac Johnson.

O’Gara, who did not compete in the first three races of the season, is No. 12 in the standings. He remains a rookie of the year contender with three races left on the schedule.

The Kenyon Midgets will be at the Indianapolis Speedrome on Sept. 5, followed by a trip to the Sportsdrome Speedway on Sept. 18. The series will conclude at Anderson Speedway on Sept. 26.
