Two Races Remain in Kenyon Midget Series

TeamWWF Driver Ambassadors Look to Finish on High Note

By Kris Mills, Social Media Coordinator

TeamWWF Driver Ambassadors Ayrton Houk and Danny O’Gara will look to finish the season strong as just two races remain in the Kenyon Midget Series.

Drivers are off this week but will return to action Sept. 18 at the Sportsdrome Speedway. The championship will conclude Sept. 26 at Anderson Speedway — the same track as the first race of the season.

Houk (JK Racing) is currently No. 2 (2,005 points) in the points standings — 26 points behind Isaac Johnson (2,031 points), who sits in first. It is quite the impressive feat for Houk, who missed the Lincoln Park race while making his IMSA debut with CSM Motorsport (Michelin Pilot Challenge).

Unfortunately, Houk will also miss the Sept. 18 Kenyon race as he competes at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of IMSA Weekend.

I think my shot at winning another Kenyon Championship is not in the cards,” Houk said. “But who knows, maybe Lady Luck will have a change of heart and the championship will be decided at the last race of the season at Anderson Speedway — a track I’ve won at multiple times.

If you want to watch Houk race at IMS next weekend, you can do so in our Turn 2 VIP Suite. Email TeamWWF Executive Director Madelyn DeLee at director@teamwwf.com for tickets and more information.

O’Gara (PFH Racing) is No. 11 in the points standings despite missing the first three races of the season. A Redline Ace Rookie of the Year contender, O’Gara will be going for his fourth series win of the year Sept. 18 at the Sportsdrome Speedway.

Only two drivers eligible for the rookie of the year honors are ahead of O’Gara. Hunter Peri has 1,605 points, and Seth Tozer has 1,417. O’Gara has 1,235 points.
