Blake's Strong Performance at Trinity County Speedway

Wings and Wheels is excited to announce Blake Lothian had a successful weekend at Halloween Havoc at Tri-County Speedway in North Carolina. With a fast practice lap time of 15.694 and a P2 qualifying position with a lap time of 15.680, he had a strong performance. Being just 0.07 seconds behind the pole position is a remarkable achievement, and it’s clear that Lothian had an impressive showing at the event.

Lothian’s recap of the race weekend events:

“We had spooky speed on a warm North Carolina night. I unloaded on Friday with a ton of speed and carried it into Saturday, where we were first in practice and second in qualifying times for the 75-lap feature. Unfortunately, we were forced to start in the back due to a disputed tech issue. But it was all good; that’s just part of racing, and I LOVE A CHALLENGE! Passing cars is what makes you a better driver. I was able to pass up three cars in the first few laps, and by the end of the 75 laps, I was ahead of over half the field for a top-five finish!

While there is nothing like the feeling of accomplishment you get from driving up through the field, this is a TEAM EFFORT. I cannot thank the crew at Mike Darne Racing enough for the bad fast car they brought me and all the adjustments they made over two days to find me even more speed. I have really been able to hone my racecraft over the past two years with Mike and his crew.

I am also grateful to my sponsors, Texas Lawbook, POTUSABCKids, and Smith Lawncare. And finally, while racing is my passion, I truly love the atmosphere at the track with all the great people, fans, and the track staff. I had a blast handing out pink bracelets, glow sticks, and Halloween candy to the kids (and a few Tri-County Speedway track workers) and meeting fans new and old: Fans like Joe, who has followed my career since we first met at a Virginia track in 2020 during my early racing Legend Car days. Folks like this make my racing journey worthwhile. I am blessed to be able to pursue my passion and look forward to continuing this journey with the wonderful support of the Wings and Wheels Foundation!”
