TeamWWF Driver Ambassador Trey Burke will compete in his third CARS Tour race on Saturday at South Boston Speedway in Virginia.
Trey (No. 4, Hettinger Racing) started the 2025 racing season at Hickory Motor Speedway in North Carolina and has made a seamless transition to the CARS Tour. As a rookie, he was second in the standings (limited sportsman division) at Hickory before making the move.
He finished P8 in his first two races with the tour and earned the Field Master Award from FloRacing for passing the most cars (16) in his debut race.
“The CARS Tour carries a lot of prestige,” Burke said. “Success on the CARS Tour means you’re doing a lot of things right.”
According to speedsport.com, Hettinger Racing is a staple of the tour, regularly fielding two or more cars for aspiring drivers. Owned by second-generation racer Chris Hettinger, the team also competes in select ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races.
The operation serves as a one-stop shop for drivers seeking to compete in these stepping-stone divisions and advance to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, ultimately aiming for the top-tier NASCAR Cup Series.
“It’s always good to run with a team that has its feet in different waters,” Burke said. “If you’re running with Hettinger on the CARS Tour, then you’re going to be one of the first people they look at when there’s a seat available at another race or in another series.”
After this weekend, Trey will have two more races with the 2025 tour — Oct. 4 at Tri-County Speedway and Oct. 18 at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
